Transparency & Documentation Volunteer — bookkeeping & records
You make help traceable – and therefore trustworthy.
What you actually do
- Record costs, receipts and outstanding invoices cleanly
- Document donations and donations in kind
- Summarise monthly needs in a simple overview
- Create the basis for later transparency reports
Why this helps Margo & the animals
Trust is the currency of this initiative. Clean figures show supporters that their help arrives – and are what makes later funding possible at all. At the same time you take on work Margo simply has no time for.
What you take away personally
The quiet but load-bearing role: without you, impact stays invisible. You experience how much order sits behind a good project – and that you can create it.
What you learn professionally
- Structured documentation and record keeping
- Building simple financial overviews
- NGO basics: transparency, reporting, funding eligibility
Who this suits
Careful, discreet people who enjoy order and numbers – experience with spreadsheets is enough, bookkeeping knowledge is a plus.
What this role is not
No tax advice · no official bookkeeping while that is organisationally unresolved · no handling of private funds · no publishing of sensitive data.
Your first small mission
Build the monthly overview for one month: enter existing receipts and rough figures into the existing cost template and mark the three largest cost blocks.
